Due to the holidays and such, I'd like to move the grant application process to Jan 1 - Feb 28th, for the grant of the same year and have a decision by the end of March.  This way, myself and others don't have to worry about looking over this during the busy holidays.

Any problems with that?

Clearly, I have no say in this but, this is a volunteer organization.  Everyone is/should be just giddy that you are willing to coordinate this at all and understand that family is more important over the holidays than the grant.  Enjoy your time off and time with you family.

This date change seems reasonable to me. The NANFA website lists a due date for Bondhus grant applications of January 31 with a decision date of March 31. The proposed change seems to be limited to extending the application date by one month whereas the decision date will remain the same. If the change is identified in the grant section of the website (and other NANFA information outlets such as this forum, Facebook, etc.) then it seems that this would be welcomed by the applicants. Another related decision is to determine if this should be a permanent change or only 2018 (which may impact the wording on the website).

My intent is for this to be a permanent change

Yes. Makes perfect sense, and imagine had we thought of the holiday season when we were setting this up, we all would have figured a different time frame. Does this require a vote? Michael Wolfe.

The Board should vote on whether a vote is needed to change this date. It'd be the safe thing to do.

:-

Which reminds me ... I was searching for the NANFA Constitution & ByLaws, or equivalent, a while ago, and didn't find anything. Is that online somewhere?

I'm not sure that this requires a vote since we are really only moving it back a month.  I think we are all in agreement anyway, I will make the change on the website.

The website has been updated to reflect the Jan 1-Feb 28 submission time while retaining the March 31 decision date.

The 2018 Grant application is live.  Remember NANFA members, this is your opportunity to give back to an organization in your area.  This may be an organization/project you have worked with, or just one that is active in your area.

You must be a current dues-paying member for the grant to be considered.

It looked interesting, can you fill out the form. That makes it easier to compare.

A decision has been made.  A formal announcement will come next week.  I want to make sure everything is written up nicely.
