Mahalo for allowing me to join your forum. I’ve been into planted tanks for over 5 years now. All my tanks (indoor) are basically the same. Rimless (2-17gal), canister filtration, pressurized CO2, LED lighting. Ramshorn snails & wild Neocardina shrimp are the clean up crew, small tetras & rasboras provide schooling dither & recently have gotten into Apistogramma cichlids.
Here on Oahu, the shrimp along w/ wild green swordtails are invasives I’m out streams & so are caught & kept in some of my tanks.
In the past I’ve kept Pygmy Sunfish & had them breed. My guys had to be fed live food (daphnia) to maintain. Would love to visit there natural habitat In Florida.

Welcome to the forum. Elassoma are great fish. I have been fortunate to keep some in tanks in the past as well as snorkle with them a few times.
