The inability to edit ones own posts after the short time limit prevents corrections or additions to topics.
Why the limitation?

We decided a long time ago that we did not want people changing things that were said in the past as it destroyed the integrity of a conversation.  One of the key features of a forum (as compared to other social media) is that it is an archive of information.  If you have something that is an obvious error or something that we decide is problematic for some other reason, I can help you.

Mike, Thanks for your reply, however, I feel that since no one has replied to my original post regarding native fish, that limitation is unnecessary because no conversation has occurred. It’s better to archive corrected, more accurate, information where possible. I agree with you about checking info before posting but new insights may come to light after the posting.

As mentioned above, let me know what you want to update and I can do so.  I think the rule we have works more often than not, but am happy to work with you on the exceptions.
