Hello! Happy to be a new member of the forum.

I have been fishkeeping for most of my life, but have never spent much time on US native fish. I'd like to change that.
I understand California is very restrictive in it's policy regarding native fish and was wondering what were the common species kept within the state? I'm not talking just California natives.

You might be able to get a scientific collecton permit.

Welcome!  I can't help you with your question, but hopefully someone will chime in.  There is a section on the forum for laws from each state.  Hopefully, you may find the answers there.
