Hello All,

I caught this fish in Key Largo, FL and it did indeed puff up when I caught it. I thought Southern Puffer, but a local guy was there when I caught it and he said it was a Cowfish. Any confirmation?

Thank you. cowfish1.jpg

Sorry, this was posted in the wrong spot.  I meant to post it in the fish I.D. section. Can someone move it please. Thanks!

100% Southern puffer.

Cowfish get there name from their very distinctive 'horns'.  Your puffer has no horns.  Search the internet for cowfish pics. You'll see.

Now I see, thanks. Now I'll have to reduce my list by one since I already caught a Southern puffer years ago!
