I went to a few nature related events this year and told people about NANFA their.

First was a fish habitat improvement discussion up in Conway which discussed adding logs to streams to improve brook trout habitat. Afterwards I talked about NANFA to some presenters and they were curious when I described it as an organization for conservation, study, and captive breeding of native species. A couple times I got asked if any members do breeding for species restoration or just for aquarium trade. Sadly I was not sure of breeding for restoration but did mention how many of the members work with local conservation groups.

Do any members do breeding for species restoration. (I think their was a recent AC article on this).

I mentioned it after a local bird survey but no one seemed interested.

A natural history conference is coming up in a couple weeks https://harriscenter...tory-conferenceand I will likely give the group a shout out, maybe bringing a few AC issues. I most likely will go as a spectator but I am debating a poster presentation but am not sure if that needs just a poster or a poster and a speech.

Great outreach Josh. Keep talking it up. I dont think many states allow for hobbyists yo get into re-introductions. But NANFA supports CFI and many that work there are members of NANFA, is that is sort of a yes. And I remember some members working with a locale zoo to do captive populations. So also sort of a yes.

Brian Zimmerman is working on re-introductions here in Ohio. Of course it is in his capacity as a state employee, but he was a NANFA member first!

I just learned poster submissions are closed but will still attend to hear the talks.

Thanks for the breeding to recover species info.
