Hi everyone! I am setting up a 10 gallon planted tank for Sheepshead minnows (most likely it will be ready in late August). This is a planted tank, so the salinity is going to be relatively low (a little over .5 PPT)...while this is more than high enough for sheepshead minnows (they need 2 mmol sodium ions to survive, and the 1/2 tsp instant ocean per 4 liters I am using in this tank provides 15 times that amount even ignoring the baking soda I am adding to increase the KH and PH), most sheepshead minnows are going to have been kept/collected at much higher salinites. How would I go about acclimating the sheepshead minnows to my 'almost' freshwater tank? Would a simple drip acclimation work, or would I need to give them several days to a week in a quarantine tank (with daily water changes) to get them to adjust to the lower salinity? Thanks

They can be acclimated in a matter of hours from full salt to fresh or vice versa. Just put them on a drip and let it run till the salinity is where you want it. That's what worked for me
