A group of NANFA Georgia folks got out for our first outing of 2021.  This is a site that we have surveyed a number of times, and while the diversity is not high (there are only three species in this small un-named tributary of Cabin Creek).  If you want to read more about this site, there are several other thread here, that I am sure you can find by searching for "Griffin".

We were too early this year to see any tuberculate chubs, but we did see bluehead chubs and dixie chubs like this one.

And the fish were there in even higher quantities than we have ever seen before.  There were pools between riffles where there were literally a 100 fish in a single seine haul.  We did come up on a few pools where a small number of yellowfins were colored up.  Just a could of quick examples of our local ditch-minnow...

We also saw some other animals that indicate a nice continued rebound of the overall habitat... a watersnake... a lot of crayfish... a lot of salamanders... and some inverts that I am not very good at identifying.
