new to this forum. Great stuff here.
Thought I'd post some pics of my tank. Not the best quality photography... but anyway here goes:
Full tank
Another full tank
left side
right side
Assorted fish
Creek chub
un-ID'd shiner, plus creek chub and part of a small northern hogsucker (new addition)
small bluegill
Thanks for looking!

Water Hyacinth - how is it doing in your tank?
It's not dying yet.
I've only had it in there for about four weeks. It's directly under four 40 watt flourescent tubes, so I'm hoping it will live.
The roots seem to be growing, so I guess that's good.

Hmm, four weeks is long enough for it to take over the entire surface. At least it's easier to get rid of than duckweed!

Beautiful system. What type of substrate are you using?
Todd
Hopefully "deep sand bed"!

When I was working out in the CA Delta I was amazed at how nasty, invasive, obtrusive and steadfast the hyacinth was. Mostly all of the irrigation ditches, and backwater sloughs were choked with this stuff. Was a pretty color when it bloomed though (like loostrife ). The DFG had a couple of those fan boats that would just cruise around the Delta and spray herbicide on it. That barely helped.
