The warmouth is my favorite also, but that banded darter is a beauty.

I haven't really kept one yet. I had some small ones earlier this year that ended up being eaten by something else in the tank. I collected a few more for some members and this one is actually one of them. I never had the right tank setup to keep one, but I will setup one soon and get a few for myself. I will have a "backwater" tank for banded+bluespotted sunfish, eastern mudminnows, and swamp darters (if I can find them). We also sample redfin pickerel, warmouth, and pirate perch in the same waters but they obviously get too large and will eat the others.

I love warpaint shiners. Going trout fishing this weekend along the Chatooga in NC. Hopefully I'll be able to bring some WPs home. Last time I went up there I accidentally hooked one on my fly line without knowing it. I backcasted and knocked it out cold against a rock. Whoops! It did recover to swim away, but probably became someone's dinner soon thereafter.

I miss my pickerel.... . Nice collection drew! What kind of conditions do you have that banded darter in. GPH and tank size? They look like something I might get.

He's in a 72G with an Eheim 2028 on it. I'm going to try to breed that particular one so he may end up in a 10G or so with a couple of females. Talk to skipjack if you're interested in buying some. They are one of my more active darters so I enjoy having them.
