Orange spot picts

This Orange spot wanted to eat, i got a few picts of him before feeding time.

this is the most aggressive one out of the 4, he keeps the others in line,

I keep the tank at around 70-72 deg, this one has started to color up.

they are kinda shaky

What kind and how much lighting do you have for that tank? Your plants seem to look quite nice. What do you do to control algae?

lights:

2 - 96 watt (ah supply)
2 - 56 watt (ah supply)

fert:

1 1/8 tea spoons kno3
1 ml fleet enima
6 teasp epsom salt
9 teasp cal sulfate
per week at water change

I dose 24 ml of trace per day

50% water change every friday (im doing it now)

I have 75 olive nerites for algae control

I also have co2 injection, 1.5 bub per sec

my co2 sat is about 19-15

I had bad case of green water at first but the co2 fixed that, before i was trying to dose with flourish excell, it cant compare with co2 inj

forgot to mention, substrate is 2" of fluorite under 1.5- 2" of pea gravel

Do you know what part of the country that orangespotted sunfish can from? I'm trying to get a handle on the different "strains" and what they look like. Thanks!

i believe they came from south carolina, i ordered them from ksiaquatics

Oh, then I think they came from Minnesooo-ta. They are not native to SC, I don't think. Anyway, I know where they got those fish. Thought it looked familiar. Thanks for the info.

To bring it back to the pics in the first post, wow that fish is great looking. I can't wait until i can afford a tank big enough to get some sunfish that look like that
