For the past couple of months I have been working with two Elementary School libraries setting up non-game native fish tanks. Presently the tanks have been shut down for the summer, since no one would be there to take care of the fish on a weekly basis. One thing that was brought to my attention was the fact that the school library has zero books on native fish. The librarians ask if I could put together a list of books that they could get for their library. My list so far is the ones below. Since these are Elementary students, I was thinking books with pictures and general information would be better than some of the more detailed books. Any book titles that can be added to the list will be appreciated.
Bill F.
North American Native Fishes for the Home Aquarium by David. M. Schleser, Barron's, 1998
American Aquarium Fishes (W L Moody, Jr, Natural History Series)
A Field Guide to Freshwater Fishes : North America North of Mexico (Peterson Field Guides)
Books for Elementary schools
