Early this Spring the county i live in as well as other places in Indiana, experienced major flooding, and a Large company here with holding ponds had one that the levy broke on, sending what was later found to be PCB contaminated water rushing through a residential area in its wake, and naturally to the creeks and streams carrying that run off water toward our Wabash river. I have prior, to the knowledge of this spill, taken small fish from this creek, and now see cleanup crews removing large ammounts of soil from the actual creek beds. How will this impact the general, health of these bodies of water and surrounding soil. This company it seems is doing all they can to remedy this and the litigation continues, now im afraid to go anywhere near these streams and fish and collect only on the far upstream side of this contamination. Can the fish carry this else where??

I would say dont eat the fish.I'm afraid your area may never be the same.
here is info of one spill and a little public data on the site.

I may be able to get you access to private land over by mansfield..tributaries of the big racoon creek flow thru there.. I'm not sure what you will find but I have seen some interesting fish in the creek before, I cant guarantee anything since it is my uncles property but I can try. The same spring flooding did have a major impact on the creek washing in alot of silt most of the gravel bottom is now gone or buried. There may even still be a minnow trap that was left when I was there over the summer, after we set it the creek flooded and I was able to go back for it before I left.
