When I ordered mine, I told her some guy from Mississippi was going to call, and that he would be difficult to deal with...

I just love being right...

I got my advance copy this week and, ahem, I think it looks pretty darn good. Heavy (not a field book), good paper, and well bound. And the photos of Dustin and Uland are exceptional.

I don't understand what's so hard to understand about shipping. I mean, I have to PAY for the book already, what's all this about shipping and HANDLING? I'd just as soon they didn't HANDLE the book in the first place - I want it to look NEW! And shipping? C'mon, media mail is cheap - don't be such a cheapskate! And where is my free review copy?? Why am I paying for this anyway? Don't they know who I am???

I got mine last night... would have told y'all earlier, but I have not been on-line... spent all night looking over my new Fishes of SC... several NANFA members are pictured or mentioned in the book... and several references to the aquarium suitability or behaviour of some of the fish are in there as well.

Thanks for your hard work Fritz, this is a great addition to my Fishes of... book collection, particularly since I have been honored to have the opportunity to drag net with the author.

Got my copy today. Looks great. Boss keeps telling me to get back to work. Now if I can only get Fritz to sign it my retirement fund will be back to full strength! :smile2: Great job Fritz.

Fritz and all are doing alright, this book rates number ~442,000 in sales on Amazon compared to ~7.7 million for the centrarchid book mentioned in another thread.

What was the centrarchid book that was mentioned in another thread? Thanks!

Re: the SC book, I'm copying a post I made in another thread for the benefit of those who are following this one:

Barnes & Noble is selling it for $40 and change right now, apparently with free shipping: Barnes & Noble link And you can see scans of a good portion of the book on the publisher's site: U So Carolina Press I'm going to order mine right now! Woo hoo!
