Okay...I've got Blake and Mark. Anyone else? Water might be a little high in the Tippecanoe but that won't stop us. Let's hope for no rain on the weekend.

Mike, lets get out this weekend if at all possible. I need local photos so we shouldn't have to go too far. Send me a PM if you have time this weekend.

I don't see why I couldn't right now. Fingers crossed I can keep caught up with work.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you as well. We can use all the help we can get. I'll get an email together sometime this week to coordinate details.

Just a couple of quick questions. Is there a tenative agenda for the Tip. as of yet? The 16th and 17th are fast approaching. And I would love to tag along this weekend if you guys dont mind.

I would like to start as early as I can convince everyone about 10 miles SE of Goshen. Sample at least three lakes (I have sites), take photos and then set up camp between there and the Tippecanoe. There are several campgrounds available. The following day, I'd like to sample as many sites on the Tippecanoe as possible. We'll start further upstream than the locations we last visited.

Water levels will be really low this weekend in northern Illinois. Anyone want to sample this weekend?

If I have a buddy or two to pull a seine, both the upper Illinois and the Kankakee (plus tribs) are exceptionally low. I'm a bit worn out on seining the Kankakee this season but I'm thinking the Vermilion and Illinois river below Starved Rock might be productive. We would expect to see an abundance of C. lutrensis (Red Shiner) in the Vermilion as well as Carpiodes and L. platostomus (Shortnose Gar). Below Starved Rock I would like to photo Alosa chrysochloris (Skipjack) and we did manage to find a robust Macrhybopsis storeriana (Silver Chub) once.

If you and Blake have a nice spot for photos with low water, let me know and I'd be happy to drive on down.

Any plans for a trip that's going to be near Indiana or more towards Southern IL in the near future? If I can get it down to 4 hours or less one way(From Bloomington, IN) I'd be interested in getting out again some weekend. The last trip was certainly worth the drive.

Water levels have been low but I've been too busy to get in the water recently.
I can't stand it any longer and want to sample and or snorkel this weekend if anyone is up to it. Anyone in northern Illinois/Indiana want to do something this weekend?

I'm up for that but that's going to be a 2.5 hour plus drive for you and a mile long walk even a mountain goat might dislike.

Sounds like something that may escalate into another "Uland made us walk" story ;-)

Well maybe something else then. Still have the bad back.

Don't take those stories lightly Lance. I'm a bit ashamed to say this year I've marched guys on some rather long trips with very little results. I'm trying to avoid a reputation

Mike, anything else you want to see that doesn't involve such a long drive or walk?

I would like to see a mooneye or goldeye (don't no where they would be so unsure about distance)

Yellow Bass, orangespotted sunfish, stonecat, grass pickerel.

Mike
