I am in charge of a hopefully large program for my work called River Jamboree: Musselfest on July 19.
Here is a posting on our website about it and a neat little video we put together, featuring some of Todd Crail's videos (thanks again Todd!).

Stop on by if you live in the area and can make it out!
We also have a seining program coming up this weekend, but it may be canceled unless more people sign up for it.

Just an update on how it all went, if anyone was interested.
We had 60 participants attend the event. Matthew Smith (scenicrivers) was there with a great little bentic invertebrate display. Lots of kids, famailies and just interested adults. We took Mussel hikes and believe came up with about 10 species and heard a very interesting presentation on why mussels are suffering and why the Grand River is an excellent mussel river from Dr. Krebs from Cleveland State.

Really glad to hear this all worked out well, Andy! That is one of the best turn outs I've ever heard of for a mussel program. Sorry again that I couldn't be more involved, but I think it really worked out better for the program to have Bob there than me.
