Their editors Rick Martin and Susan Jones have asked that I start a new column for them called FACES,PLACES and GEAR. It will highlight responsible sampling, collecting and research efforts by those wanting to protect and enhance natural (and native) fishes in the US.
The column is going to highlight 1 or 2 specific researchers, agencies, private individuals, universities and /or groups each issue. Unlike the AFS type publications, this column will be written in Joe 6 Pack journalistic style. No Excel spread sheets, no pie charts, no Power Point .....just pictures and a basic story highlighting specific people going about their work (or pleasure) in helping to protect and preserve our wilderness fisheries.
It will NOT be featuring commercial enterprise per se, but rather individuals doing collecting and sampling in their unique way or with their unique gears.
I thought you folks here on the NANFA forum would make for some interesting reads and that is why I asked permission to post this announcement.
The column will be written by me . The photos and basic story line will be taken from information that the subjects supply. There will be a Q&A sidebar on Gear related issues.
FFN will edit and publish every second month.
With that said, I welcome any suggestions for future columns on state, federal, university or private groups (or individuals). Here is a chance to highlight your projects to a national audience.
I thank NANFA reps for letting me post the news for this new environmental fisheries column.
Regards,
Greg
