Freshwater Tarpon and Snook?

My friend told me that there are freshwater tarpon and snook. Is this true?

They can go up rivers, I believe there is a Lake in Texas that has Red Drum & Tarpon that is conected to the Gulf.

Yes there are, sometimes they get trapped in coastal lagoons and ponds. There are ponds/lakes in south Florida where I have caught 36in snook, 30in tarpon, 5lb bass, and tilapia all in the same hole.. I even know a couple lakes with 4ft+ tarpon residing in them...

Down where speckled trout are 'mules', largemouth bass are 'green trout', and drum are 'rats'? SO it's rare but it happens?
