There are similar "salters" or sea-run brook trout in coastal waters in Maine (and presumably further up the Atlantic Coast). Very unique populations for sure.

They do run streams to spawn. But apparantly they grow to irregular sizes and lurk in the shallows of the lake rather than the deep year round.Yes I have heard of Coaster Brook trout. Very unique population for sure. You've have hit the majority of the high points. I was under the assumption that they ran into rivers and creeks to spawn and lived in the lake and grew large there, much like Great Lakes steelhead.
