I was kinda under the impression that the NANFA Encyclopedia would be pretty much what you describe. It has been rumored to be in progress for some time now, but I have heard nearly no one mention it or any progress that may be being made.
Hopefully some higher-ups can enlighten us if they have the info?

That's a pretty good site, but I like wikipedia type sites better. Just the way they look, I also like the ability of editing something.Well, there's Fishbase...
