Hey there, I will be heading to NC later this week and staying at the Carolina Hemlocks campground near Mt. Mitchell. Word among the group staying seems to be that there is no collecting allowed, but I can't find anything in the regulations regarding that. Does anyone have a bit more insight? Thank you!

(Regulations here: http://www.ncwildlif...ons-Digest.pdf)

Off the top of my head, you will be in public  trout waters where collecting bait fish is illegal, I think.  With a fishing license you can seine or dip net fish in non-trout waters.  But best idea is to just call them.
