Caught in Tuscaloosa, Alabama in early May. There was a large school of them ~30 breeding over a Largescale stoneroller nest. By far, one of the most beautiful native species we have.

Hello, I like to express this is a very beautiful fish. You must be lucky if you can catch these fishes in nature. I posted some reply and questions to the forum this winter about temperatures for rainbow shiners, and they survived as you suggested at 2 - 5 Celsius in my tanks very well and now I got 30 young rainbowshiners from 1 centimeter from these happy fishes.
I just like to know the other people of the forum and share my small succes.In my other 2 tanks may-be I will have some more of them you never know and even the N. lutresis surprised me with tiny youngsters, yesterday Casper
