I have went back as far as I can and have read every post I could find on Longears in the aquarium but wondered if anyone had any newer thoughts to offer.. I have been working out a nice 55 just for them but am not sure if I want adults or juvi's when I go collecting.

Your collecting will be a lot more productive if you don't limit yourself to adults. I always find lots of juveniles but relatively few adults.

I would get juveniles, they adapt better to captivity. They grow quickly and it's fun to watch them grow. I got a young pair once, and the male killed the female, so now I just have him. I guess it's best to have one or several to allow a pecking order to develop and spread out aggression.
