I have been trying to help my friend from South Dakota with setting up a bluegill breeding tank. He stated he has a pair he caught ( caught them both by hook) and is now trying to breed them. They are both in breeding colors, but he is keeping them currently in a 20 gallon L. I told him I didn't think that would be big enough for a pair at 5" TL. So what size tank do you guys feel would be good for keeping a breeding pair?

5" often big enough.
Describe the breeding pair. What is meant by breeding colors? They do not normally exhibit pair bonds as is typical of most cichlids.
