I'm working on a photo collection for Illinois and managed some decent photos of Srtipetail and Spottail darters. I borrowed decent looking females for photos and I'm not getting very far distinguishing kennicotti from squamiceps. They were caught from the same creek so I'll not be able to use location as help and I'd like to include male and female photos when possible.
Does anyone have advice on how to field ID female kennicotti from squamiceps?
I can provide photos if necessary.
