I'm sure I'm not alone on this forum as a member who not only cares about native fish, but also relishes the opportunity to fish for some really big introduced species. Here's a short video I found on the capture, spawning, and release of the introduced trout and salmon species in the Great Lakes.

Nice video, Nate. It sure is interesting to view first hand how well these hatcheries are engendering VHS and other diseases around the great lakes region.

Well, okay. But I posted the video as a way to show people how some fish are propagated. These same techniques are used in many flowing waters around the world.

As a teen before I was old enough to get a paying job, I used to do volunteer work at the local trout hatchery. I enjoyed it alot. We'd get the fingerlings in and grow them out to stocking size & then stock them.
