However, I ended up changing some things around in another tank and it ended up being turned into a tropical tank.
Anyways though, I have a few tanks that I figure I could easily turn into native tanks and am looking for some suggestions and advice.
Any tank would be planted, and I would most likely use the Walstad Method for all of these tank.
The first tank is actually a 10 gallon cherry shrimp tank right now. I want to rescape it though and add in some Pygmy Sunfish (probably Okefenokees.
My questions with this tank are:
If I added pygmy sunfish to the shrimp tank would their be any issues with sunfish eating shrimp or shrimp eating fry?
Also should I keep the sponge filter running in this tank along with making it heavily planted? What about the heater?
The second one would either be a 10 or 15 gallon tank. I was thinking of doing killis or darters in this tank.... any suggestions though???
The final one is a cylindrical tank that is about 12" tall and has a radius of about 9.5" (it holds about 3 gallons). It has an under gravel filter that I would take out and either do a few tall plants or driftwood with java moss and jave fern, maybe even an anubias nana, growing on it. For lighting I would use my desk lamp. I don't remember what the wattage is, but there are 3 fluorescent bulbs in there. O and this tank wouldn't have a lid..... Anything I could put in here?
We've also got some glass 2.5 gallon tanks at work for cheap.... even the 10 gallons aren't bad for just the tank.... I could also probably find some cheap small tanks on Craigslist.
