I started a time ago with a North American tank for my Darters (Etheostoma caeruleum) one of my favourite darterspecies ;)
The tank is doing well and i add some new fish in it a few weeks ago a group Notropis chrosomus.. the reason why i took this fish is because i had these for a nice price. and they are also nice colorfull fish.
This combination works fine for me at the moment.

Here some pictures:

The chrosomus are still young fish, they need to get there colors. the temperature in the tank is around 12C at the moment.

In this topic i will post sometimes a few updates from this fish, and hopefully also from spawns's ;)

Water temperature in north Alabama streams with rainbow darters is now 6 - 8 deg. C. I've become more convinced over the years that local stream fishes respond more to increasing daylight than to increasing temperature as a cue to develop colors and prepare to spawn.

What I can see of the tank is very pretty. May we have a zoomed out photo, too?

Your Notropis look good... and they will color up as they grow... for now, you just have to be happy with the fact that they are great shiners with a big orange stripe... the pinks and blues come once they reach full size...
