Hey guys, recently in my 80 gallon tank which cantains a 4inch crappie,4inch bluegill,4inch perch,4inch pumkimseed sunfish, and a few juvinile (2-3inch) green sunfish Ive been noticing the crappie has made a small impression in the ground and has not left it for the past few days except to feed. This is weird cause he's usually suspended on top of the driftwood. Also hes been increasing aggressive to the fish around it. This is weird because on the few occasions they do chase each other around he's the one getting chased around. If this is the case and he has made a bed for spawning, what could of caused this??? Maybe time of year??? Anythings helpful
thanks

When I have had black crappie and fliers dig a nest, it was usually now just before they would be doing it in nature. Did you let your tank get cold over winter? That was required to get my crappie in mood in early spring.

The tank was cold for December when I was on vacation and my friend was feeding them.
