I've been using jury rigged filter pads (zip ties & all) on my intake lines.
I found one nice sponge filter about 5 inches long, about 1 1/2" od with a 3/4"id to fit over pvc pipe.
Anybody know where I might find more of these??
I think the original was for a pond pump intake.
Looking for a particular sponge filter-

The best sponge I've ever used is, surprisingly, Walmart's synthetic sea sponge, which I bought for less than five dollars. Here's a link: http://www.walmart.c...v_fb_revshr_001
It's got this really neat consistency to it that makes it a better filter than any of the materials I've bought that were marketed as aquarium filters. The Walmart synthetic sea sponge even captures those fine kitty litter dust particles that would otherwise be too large for activated carbon to capture and too small for your standard aquarium filter. Every time I squeeze this sponge to clean it out, the water runs slate grey with all of the particles that it had in it. I ::heart:: that sponge

Best on the market bar none. Nothing to break. Reasonably priced as well. I would never use any other. Period.
