Hello All,
Attached is a PDF of a paper in press that presents a phylogeny of all, but three darter species. The phylogenetic relationships are used to construct a new "rank-free" classification for darters.

I do not have expertise or training in this field ... heck I'm probably deluding myself that I think I understood half of it ... but this certainly seems to qualify as A Major, Epic Paper. You all do not think small.

Thanks for sharing.

Excellent, I've been looking forward to reading this. I saw your talk on this work at JMIH earlier this month.

Tom, so does that mean no success in extracting DNA from formalin fixed E. sellare specimens?

Minor success for one mtDNA gene and it is falling out with the clade Neoetheostoma (no. 19 in Fig. 4), but the haplotype is distinct from E. blennioides sampled from the Susquehanna. We cannot replicate the result. But we will probably write a short paper to communicate our, preliminary, result.

Hello All,
Attached is the published version of the paper, not the in press version posted last month. This came out quicker than we anticipated. This version has the page numbers and a figure that was used for the cover of this issue.-Tom
