What is the status of the silvery minnow in New Hampshire? Freshwater fishes of New Hampshire lists it as occuring in the Connecticut River. And Natureserve lists it as a current species in the river, and it is legal bait in the state. But it is not on a list of species occuring in NH on the fish and game page and the species distribution map shows it as possibly extirpated in NH.

What year was the copy of Freshwater Fishes of New Hampshire that you're referencing published?

The only date I can find in it is

"Copywrite © 1973, 1987 by New Hampshire Fish and Game Department. Permission required to reprint any portion of this book."

Hmm. The information inside it might be out of date, then. It's possible that in 1987, the silvery minnow was found in the Connecticut River, but that since then it has been extirpated.

Have you called/e-mailed the fish and game department and asked them about their distribution map? They've probably got data on the dates and techniques they used to collect fish.
