I mainly feed frozen foods and sometimes give dried as a treat. I know minnows like dried bloodworms (darters spit them out though) and sunfish and bullhead like dried shrimp and krill.

Sometimes I get the shrimp and krill in the reptile section not the fish section as it is cheaper their. This made me wonder on two things.

Are the nutritional benefits of dried shrimp packaged for fish and those packaged for reptiles the same?

Will fish eat the dried mealworms, crickets, and hoppers found in the reptile section. (I know they eat live ones, but dried ones never make it to the fish section).

Be careful with freeze dried foods. They can lead to dropsy and other horrible problems with the fishes' organs. However, they are definitely a great "treat" and are also good for adapting fish to flakes.
