I would love the idea of having fluidized beds on all of my larger tanks, but I see some major potential problems. In the event of a power outage, the beneficial bacteria begins dying instantly. Within minutes you have an incredibly deadly substance that, as soon as you regain power, will be pushed right into your tanks. This terrifies me, because most power outages around here happen while I'm asleep, so there'd be nothing I could do. One morning I would just wake to all of my prized posessions dead. Is there any way around this (one that doesn't defeat the affordability of the fluidized bed)?
