Along with the Piedmonts and Savannahs the Turquoise, Blackbanded and Christmas fry are hatching! Love this time of year! I included a few photos. The first are Seagreen pair getting ready to spawn, second are Turqouise and the last one shows adult blackbanded adults as well as one of the young from last year (the others kept jumping behind the rocks).

Turquoise and Blackbanded... it's Georgia at your house in Iowa... fantastic... I still want to hear the details. You are doing a great job!

Michael, You forgot the Christmas darters!

What I do with the fry will depend on my success rate and final numbers.

Great job Ken. I look forward to seeing the little ones.

Got your order wrong on the photos somehow. The are blackbanded then seagreen then turquoise. Beautiful fish. Do you have any photos of the Christmas darters colored up?

Whoah, that blackbanded darter in the lower left corner of the top picture is an absolute sausage with fins.

Dustin, I don't know how I messed up the order but you are quite correct. I've been trying to get more varieties but they sure like to hide when they see me with a camera! Put down the camera and they seem to come out... of course it could just me me or coincidence... ;)

Nate, yes he's a big one! I call him "the Bull" of the bunch....

Nope its not you. My fish (even when I kept african cichlids and Synodontis multipunctatus) dont like camera's either but they like me. I think its something about that big eye thats following them as they swim around, like a predator taking aim.
