How difficult is it to keep native marine fish? I'm assuming a protien skimmer and water cooler may be required? I was wondering about Sculpins, starfish, crab ( not all together of course ).

i keep two stiped blennys(Chasmodes bosquianus), several grass shrimp, a green pistol shrimp and a so far unidentified gobie in the same ten gallon with only a light and a large sponge filter. i use plenty of algae from the site i collected them and so far they are all doing great. the pistol shrimp has even colored up quite nicely, showing green, orange and blue in its large claw. i dont know about the fish that live farther out in the ocean, but the species that live in the ICW seem to be very hardy. i collected all mine from a mud flat around topsail island and they only took about a week to get switched over to prepared foods.
