Well, I have found a small headwater stream about 10 minutes from the house that has an abundance of Northern Redbellied Dace. The stream is on a friends property and runs into a small river that eventually dumps into the St.Louis river which is part of the lake superior drainage basin. I like these guys so much that I am thinking of getting a 40 long so that I can do a really nice stream tank set up for them. This whole native fish collecting is just SO MUCH more fun than the cichlids ever were. Later all.

You're lucky! I actually found a good spot just over a mile from my house. It doesn't have the most amazing diversity, but it's a pretty good spot anyways. I caught a small sunny there that almost looks like a Northern Longear, but I know that they aren't found in this area.
