Hi everyone,
Just figured out how to use google sketchup. Made a sump design. Was wondering what you guys thought of it.
Water flows from tank using a Herbie overflow>> 1in bulkhead into sump >>through 2 filter socks>> onto a drip tray and into bioballs>> to return pump
SUMP design

I think there's no reason for all those walls. Just fill the box with growing plant tissue and voila! maximized nitrogen sequestration.

Nitrosomonas bacteria (who eat ammonia) compete with plants (who eat ammonium, which is in equilibrium with ammonia) for food. The two are in direct competition for a limited amount of food. They are not friends. If one eats the other doesn't.This is to add extra...biological filtration.
