My friend caught this while we were roughfishing lake ontario. I think its a logperch, but my only exposure to them is only through photos any help guys? I know there are 11 different species, which one is this (if at all)? Thanks!

Right, Percina caprodes is the only species that I see in my Peterson's that has a natural range which includes Lake Ontario.
