Not sure which Darter this is? I.D. Please

I am not really sure what type of darter this is, I currently have 5 swamp darters and these look nothing like them.When I get some better pics in tank I will post them.

Those look like E. fusiforme to me. Also, for purposes of ID, it is standard practice to post the state and preferably drainage the fish was taken in. This makes it much easier for us to help.

Fl., econolatchee river.
The bottom pic definitely is, these are what I have had for a year now, the others have color to them and red tail fins.

What area of FL is that in? I couldn't find that river on google.

Looks like a Swamp Darter to me.

yes in orlando, in the tank with the swamp darters there seems to be differences in the 2, Im still trying to get a good pic

Without knowing what major river that one flows into, your options are basically

Swamp Darter
Brown Darter
Blackbanded Darter
Tesselated Darter


could be a Brown Darter

Definitely a swamp. They can have variable coloration depending on the habitat they are taken from. Not a lot of choices down your way for darters which makes this an even easier ID.

A few on another forum tell me this may be a brown darter. here are a couple more pics with 1 of my sand darters as well. not the best pics but I think they show some differences.

It's not a brown. Just an oddly colored swamp.

not a brown... I have seen swamps that turned this dark in some situations... I vote swamp
