Most likely, never seen one that vivid green before.

Thanks for the replies. The local fish "experts" at the tackle shops said it was a Redear. I disagree.

The fish is a planter, caught in a Utah reservoir. The photographer likes to jack his saturation and contrast up a bit much, but it's still a pretty fish for this time of year, months past the spawning season.

The rare times a fishing book or magazine looks at a lepomis other than a bluegill or redear they often mention the pumpkinseed as one of the most beautiful sunfish. Though you could hardly tell it in here where everyone loves longears and orangespots.

Yeah, hard to beat an Orangespot, but I've seen some pretty nice spawning Pumkinseeds in my youth back in Illinois.

Pumpkinseeds are my favorite local native fish. I like orangespots & long ears but dont have them round these parts.

A full grown p-seed in full color can't be beat. They are really big and bright.

It's a fish made of honey and light blue frosting!

It certainly looks like a Pumpkinseed to me - a rather 'classic case' one, as well
