Hippocampus zosterae

I was at the tank just now searching and I see the male mandarinfish and he is fine. I can't find the female but that's how it usually goes (she is an inch long in a 75 gallon heavily planted tank). If it turns out she's dead, I'll sell the male and switch to sunfish.

She's fine of course. Everything in the tank except for the seahorses survived. The hydroids are still all alive, too. For future reference, don't use levamisole hydrochloride on hippocampus zosterae.

i was thinking about the seahorses, thinking they may need a lot of HUFA in their diet. after doing a quick google search, it seems this is the case.

if you can get some nannochloropsis going, you might be able to dose your tank with it regularly, which could help to enrich the copepods in your tank. im going to be trying something like that in a freshwater tank, the idea being that the ostracods/copepods that are in my tank will feed on the nannochloropsis and will hopefully provide enough HUFA for the animals i want to raise.
i know that a lot of people like to use things like SELCO to enrich brine shrimp, which seems to be a bit of a standard practice nowadays...
