For future reference, where can I find a complete and up to date list of invasive fish species in NY?

The U.S. Geologic Service has a "Nonindigenous Aquatic Species" section that tracks exactly this kind of information across the nation.

Go to NAS ... hit FISH .... then SEARCH BY STATE etc. It's well setup for easy navigation.

Whenever you run across an non-indigenous fish in a place you've not heard it's gotten to before, check with NAS, and if they don't know about it, file an online report. For example, I've reported brown hoplos three times in new drainages from which they had not been previously been known.

You don't say what lake or river this round goby was caught in?

In the 18 mile creek, just off of Ide Rd., in Newfane, NY

USGS - NAS has:

SpecimenID Species Country State County
272069 Round Goby US NY Niagara

Locality
Eighteen Mile Creek, downstream of the Newfane Dam and by Ide Road bridge in Newfane

Year HUC8Number DrainageName Accuracy Status
2010 4130001 Oak Orchard-Twelvemile Accurate established

So not a new extension of round goby range.
