Not Olympus. All 3 models i had leaked and their service was lame. Repairs would leak within days in some cases.
I have not had any leakage with my Pentax WG-2 purchased for the 2013 season. Sometimes the pictures are pretty good but in low light conditions it is not sensitive enough, resulting in blurs.
There are MANY brands to pick from today.
A friend uses Panasonic Lumix and does as much snorkeling as i and likes it.

I have an older (2yr) Fuji XP. I've put it through some rough treatment and it doesn't leak and does decent videos and photos for a $100-150 camera. Water/dust/shock proof.

Rustoleum released a new hydrophobic coating product called "Never Wet". I watched its trailer and saw people take a phone apart, spray it with the hydrophobic coating, let it dry, and then put the phone underwater and use it without it shorting out. It's possible that a hydrophobic coating could help improve the water resistance of waterproof cameras. Rustoleum's product is $20 at Home Depot.

Beware, Never Wet will wear off after a few uses.

I'm afraid of Never Wet. It sounds too watery to me. I might have to shoot it.

Sounds like it should be called "Not Wet At This Particular Moment" instead. Didn't know it wore off like that. I've seen the videos and it looks like pretty awesome stuff though. I'd be concerned about using it on a camera though, as it may have compounds that would break down the rubber seals/packing on waterproof cameras.

I imagine what Erica saw was for advertising purposes only. Sure it worked, but probably is not meant for this. I hope they had a disclaimer. I can imagine some clueless people taking a $1000 dollar DSLR camera body apart, spraying it down, and going snorkeling with it on their vacation to the Bahamas. Can you say class action, sure, sure you can.

Nope, not idly said. I fully intended to use it if I got a waterproof camera. I was at Home Depot a week ago looking at it, considering putting it on my phone. Of course I wouldn't sue them if it didn't work; it was my idea, not theirs.

IrateMormon, what's the proof that it wears off?

Erica, did I say it would wear off eventually?

The hydrophobia comment was just an Ole Yeller flashback.

d'oh, you're right, that was trygon. ha ha, I just sort of equate the 'it's gonna die' type statements with you. I saw 'it's gonna wear off' and I thought it was you. whoops
