At what size do I have to worry about sunfish eating darters? Im guessing as soon as they can fit them in there mouths. Currently I have 36 gallon tank with darters and bluegill. The largest bluegill has grown to 4 inches. I bought a 72 gallon aquarium and I am just wondering if I should keep my darters separate before I stock it.

I'm amazed you have darters left with a 4" bluegill. Definitely time to separate.

Ok thanks. He started at about 1.5'' but grew like a weed. I thought it was time but I have never seen him act aggressive towards them.

Haha. You won't see the bluegill get aggressive towards the darter. You'll just see darter one day, no darter the next day.
