I encountered this and was immediately struck with its similarity to bluespotted sunfish. It's called a paratilapia and is from Madagascar.

Some central American cichlids and fliers also look similar. All seem to be species that operate in dappled shade.

That's a tough one! They tend to be very peaceful with other tank mates, but the intra-specific aggression is off the hook with P. pollen! I tried raising a half dozen 1.5" juvies by themselves in a 65 to get a pair. I ended up with a single 3" fish. They started killing each other almost immediately. I had another one a few years before that I had trained to eat out of my hand. He'd grab my watch if I offered it. But if I tried feeding him small fish he'd invariably spit them out. Weird fish!
