Looks awesome! Have you thought of the river manifold design? I just did it in my 75, and it's super easy. Just make sure you buy some PVC cutters. You can have it together in 30min or less.

Thanks hmmm...I need to check into that. I'll look at your setup again. I did plan on piping the intake tube to the other side of the tank.
I also need ideas for my 72 gallon. It currently has a emperor 400 on it.

I checked out the river manifold setup. I like it a lot. I planned on using 2 aqueon 700 (fan type) to reduce heat and piping my hang on filter to the opposite end of the tank but the river manifold design is way more effective for moving water in one direction.
Now I'm undecided. ..lol

I knew a lot of salt water folks were interested in and using these; hadn't gotten seen a lot of freshwater people talking - but don't frequent those forums.

I have been taking underwater photos to try and do something similar; hadn't figured out the chemistry with freshwater yet.

What paints are you using, cjohns?

Edited to add:

It looks amazing, by the way!

I was wondering about salt water as well,I can see some advantages and disadvantages...

I used the Sakrete too, as I went to Lowes also.

I only used a few thin coats. The initial coat was a little thicker, but the 'color coats' where thin. I watered those coats down a bit. I let the background cure for several days, I can't remember how many. Then I siliconed it to the aquarium and let that set a few days. I let it set with water in it for a week or two.

Do you have a link to the manifold design?

My two aqueon 700's came in the mail today but they take up a lot of space in a 20L. What size Power heads and PVC do you suggest? I might tie in my over head filter as well.

I really like the Aquaclear powerheads. http://www.drsfoster...644&pcatid=4644

I have 2 402s (model 50) on my 75. I think you'd be good with two model 20 or 30s. Just check the flow rate. 3/4 pvc should be fine. People often talk about them adding heat to the aquarium. I just don't see it. If they increase the temp in the tank, its minuscule.

What do you think about piping in a over head filter.

Well jblaylock it's all your fault I made a trip to Lowes today after work for some pvc!!! I did it a little different and decided to run just one power head in the center and tie in my filter. I used 1/2" pvc instead of 3/4". Just trying to keep it smaller in the 20L. Now I just need a power head.

I'm about to start the background for my 72 gallon. (About 48×24) Any one have any good under water pics I can get idea's from?
I'm just brain storming right now. I'm thinking ledges, roots, maybe a small cave with a blue led in it. Options are endless.

The 20L is getting closer to being done. I still need a couple of sponge filters and a couple other finishing touches.

I like the turtle skull  . I'd suggest a larger flat rock a little off center as a focal point. Are you using any plants at all?

I agree I will have to get a flat rock. The turtle skull may or may not stay. I found it a few weeks ago while fishing a local creek. The fish add already picked it clean. I just whitened it with peroxide. Figured now would be a good time to let it soak to remove any remaining peroxide. I have not thought about plants. Any suggestions?
