Got them today from a friend/LFS owner who got them in with a bunch of feeders. Yes I know you can't sell natives in pa, he took them home because of that but didn't have room for them so he gave them to me. He said he thinks they're longnose shiners but I didn't think longnose shiners had a stripe on them. Definitely look like something in the Notropis genus either way. Sorry for the bad quality but they're moving so fast.

the smaller one is a bluefin killifish (Lucania Goodei) making the larger one a dusky or coastal shiner.

Really? I got a better picture of the smaller one. One thing to note about it is that it's missing it's caudal fin (got bit of by a feeder) and it's just starting to grow back. Just doesn't have a killie look to me.

The striped one looks like a Bluntnose minnow to me.

The small one is bluefin killifish, a common hitchtaker in feeder tanks. The larger minnow I don't know but its not 100% bluntnose minnow that's for sure.

Wouldn't it need some blue on the fins to be a bluefin? I'm pretty new to this stuff though. The dorsal fin doesn't look anything at all like a bluefin. Do the females not have the big fins?

Ok so e smaller one is a female bluefin, now I just need to figure out what the other is if it'll ever hold still for a picture.

I'm no pro, but that one looks like a bluefin to me, too.

Sorry, but I have to lock this. I know these were supposedly obtained from a feeder tank, but we have to follow the rules... no IDs from home tanks. If you dont know what it is, don't take it home.
