How about P. nigrofasciata from FL springs that are nearly constant temp year round?

I'd agree with Gerald. Blackbanded would be my choice. Hardy little buggers and they live all over the southeast.

I would probably have to agree with Blackbanded. I spawned them through F3 than sadly lost them to what looked like a bacterial infection a couple months ago. Here are some photos of Multi generations together, courting and spawning.....
