Hi everyone! I am setting up a pair of container gardens this spring and am seeking fish that would do well in them. I just purchased a pair of American Flagfish today, hoping that they would fit the bill. My question is, how cold hardy are the flagfishes? I was assuming I should pull them in when water temps dip below 50 at night. Thanks!

Mine survived in a 100 gallon stock tank even through a freeze (even had babies the next spring).  But the water only froze on the top inch or so and I am sure was not nearly so cold at the very bottom.  No circulation in these stock tanks so there is a natural gradient.

Ah...guess 50 is a good lower limit then :)

I know this is an old thread but I've been thinking about doing the same. Would they survive over winter here in south east TN?
